Airport Dubrovnik transfers

Dubrovnik airport - DBV, is located in Čilipi which is about 21-22 km from the old town centre in Dubrovnik. Each year the fairly small airport handles about 1.7 mio passengers, the majority of passengers arrive in July and August.

Getting to Dubrovnik from the airport:

From Dubrovnik airport there is a frequent shuttle bus to Dubrovnik. The bus departs app. 30 minutes after the arrival of scheduled flights. The airport shuttle bus stops at the Pile Gate (old town entrance) and then at the main bus station. From the airport you also have taxis waiting in front of the building. The last option in terms of transportation is to pre-book a private transfer from the airport to any location in Dubrovnik. The advantages of a transfer are:

⇒  Door to door service (No long walks with heavy suitcases)
⇒  In most cases cheaper than taxi
⇒  No waiting at the airport, the driver is there when you arrive, even if your plane is delayed.
⇒  Vehicles available for larger groups as well (you always travel together)

You can see transfer prices and vehicle types available for a transfer between Dubrovnik airport and Dubrovnik ⇒ ⇒ ⇒ here

NOTE: Travel time from the airport to the city centre is about 25 minutes, during summer season it might take longer due to traffic outcome. When you travel back to the airport plan to leave the town 45 minutes - 1 hour before your check in time at the airport.

Getting from airport Dubrovnik to other Croatian towns:

If you land at Dubrovnik airport and need to get to towns along the Dalmatian coast, on Peljesac peninsula or Korcula island, you have the option to travel by bus from Dubrovnik airport to Dubrovnik bus station and then find the next bus from there to your final destination. Depending on your destination and the time of the day your are travelling, you might have to wait quite a bit for the next bus. From the airport you can also book a private transfer to any destination along the coast; here we have listed some of the most popular private tours.

Getting from Dubrovnik airport to Montenegro

If you travel to towns in Montenegro like, Budva, Tivat, Kotor, Herceg Novi or any other, you can basically do so by bus, but as the buses do not run from the airport but from the main bus station in Dubrovnik, you will have to travel there first, which is 20 km in the opposite direction and therefore not a good option to consider. From the airport our most popular private transfers to Montenegro are listed on the left.

NOTE: When transferring to Montenegro, you obviously need to cross the border between Croatia and Montenegro which means you need to bring all the necessary documents. The border crossing is normally hassle free, but occasionally it happens that there is some additional waiting time, so make sure to your schedule is not too tight.

Dubrovnik airport to Bosnia & Herzegovina

Destinations in Bosnia are a bit hard to reach by public transportation since there are very few buses and, as mentioned above, intercity buses do not run from the airport but from the main bus station in Dubrovnik, so most people either join an organized excursion, rent a car or book a private transfer to get to Bosnia. The most popular tours we drive are tours to Mostar, Medjugorje and Sarajevo.

NOTE: As a transfer to Bosnia includes a border crossing, make sure you have all the necessary documents for doing so; usually the crossing the border is hassle free, but on days with heavy traffic (often Saturdays) or with extended border controls, it can take some additional time to cross the border.
